Role: Senior Automation Engineer
Location: London or Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: £80,000 - £120,000 (depending on experience)
Job Type: Permanent
The Opportunity:
I'm working with a well-established organisation that is investing heavily in automation, AI, and digital transformation. As they continue to grow their technology function, they're looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join the team.
This is an opportunity to work on projects that genuinely make a difference across the business. You'll be involved in designing and building intelligent automation solutions that improve processes, increase efficiency, and support the wider organisation as it continues to embrace new technologies.

You'll work alongside experienced technical teams and business stakeholders, helping to deliver solutions from initial concept through to deployment and ongoing improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing and developing automation solutions that solve real business problems.
- Building scalable applications and services using Python.
- Integrating systems and developing APIs to support business processes.
- Working with cloud-based technologies and modern development practices.
- Supporting the deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of applications.
- Collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.
- Contributing to code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement across the engineering team.

You'll Ideally Have:
- Strong commercial experience with Python.
- Experience building and supporting production applications.
- Exposure to automation, AI, or intelligent workflow solutions.
- Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern development practices.
- An understanding of CI/CD and software development best practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach and a genuine interest in learning new technologies.
