Senior Automation Test Engineer - Permanent - SC Cleared
Location: London - Hybrid, 2/3 days onsite
Salary: Up to £75,000 + Benefits
Active SC Preferred
We are looking for an experienced Senior Automation Test Engineer to support a high-profile programme within the Financial sector.
This role requires someone with strong hands-on automation engineering experience who can work across UI, API and framework-level testing within a modern Agile and CI/CD environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain robust automation test frameworks.
- Build and execute automated UI and API test suites.
- Work closely with Developers, DevOps Engineers, Product and Delivery teams within Agile environments.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support continuous improvement of testing standards, tooling and automation practices.
- Contribute to performance, security and non-functional testing where required.
- Work across cloud-based and containerised environments.

Essential Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Selenium.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining Automation Frameworks.
- Strong API Automation experience using tools such as Postman and SOAPUI.
- Experience with Karate Framework.
- Strong understanding of Cucumber / BDD.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and/or GitHub Actions.
- Strong experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Good understanding of modern software engineering and testing practices.

Highly Desirable
- Microsoft Azure experience.
- Docker and Kubernetes exposure.
- Performance Testing experience.
- Security Testing experience.
- Experience working within Banking, Financial Services or other regulated environments.
