Senior Automation Tester / Quality Engineer
Hybrid - please only apply if you live in Glasgow or the surrounding area.
We are working in partnership with a leading Glasgow-based SaaS organisation to recruit an enthusiastic and technically driven Software Automation Tester.
This innovative technology business develops a modern cloud-native platform used by customers across multiple industries, helping them streamline complex processes, improve operational efficiency, and drive business growth.
With a strong focus on product innovation and engineering excellence, they are continuing to expand their technology team as they scale their platform and customer base.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious organisation where quality is at the heart of software delivery. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of automation, influence engineering practices, and help shape the future direction of quality across the business.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Automation Tester who enjoys solving technical challenges, building scalable automation solutions, and driving continuous improvement. This is not a traditional test execution or test management role. We need someone who can take ownership of quality engineering, build upon the automation foundations already in place, and help evolve testing practices through modern tooling, AI-assisted approaches, and innovative techniques.
As a key member of the Engineering team, you will work closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and ensure testing remains an enabler of rapid, reliable software delivery.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently, experimenting with new technologies, and challenging conventional approaches to improve quality, efficiency, and automation coverage.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
