About the Job you are considering:

Join Capgemini’s Cloud & Custom Applications (C&CA) practice as a Solution Engineer supporting business-critical acquiring and chargeback services. Working within a collaborative delivery environment, you will help design and build scalable, resilient solutions that enable clients to respond to evolving business needs with confidence. Architect Tomorrow., you will act as a trusted, AI-aware engineering professional, delivering high-quality outcomes, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to a future-ready workforce while helping clients achieve measurable value.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient business services that support critical acquiring and chargeback processes.
  • Build and maintain event-driven solutions that enable reliable processing of business transactions and operational workflows.
  • Develop and enhance service interfaces that facilitate seamless integration between enterprise applications and business domains.
  • Ensure efficient ingestion, transformation, validation, and routing of data across connected systems.
  • Implement robust messaging and event-processing patterns that improve reliability, observability, and business responsiveness.
  • Design data models and persistence strategies that support performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into effective engineering solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Promote engineering excellence through continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and adherence to secure delivery practices.
  • Contribute to innovation by identifying opportunities to leverage emerging capabilities, including AI-assisted ways of working, to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Support the development of a future-ready team culture through mentoring, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Must-Have Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering cloud-native application solutions.
  • Proven experience developing and supporting API-led integration services.
  • Strong understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing patterns.
  • Experience designing scalable, resilient, and secure distributed applications.
  • Knowledge of enterprise integration principles and service-oriented design.
  • Experience modelling and managing transactional and operational data solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of secure software delivery and engineering best practices.
  • Awareness of AI-enabled tools and approaches that enhance productivity and delivery effectiveness.
  • AWS services including Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and related cloud-native capabilities.
  • NATS JetStream or comparable event-streaming and messaging platforms.
  • REST API design frameworks and associated governance practices.
  • Microservices architecture patterns.
  • CI/CD and DevOps tooling and practices.
  • Experience within payments, merchant acquiring, chargebacks, or dispute management domains.
  • AWS certifications or other relevant cloud certifications.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and operational support frameworks.
