Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer

We're looking for a Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team in London, United Kingdom in a hybrid working mode. You will design and optimize cloud infrastructure, manage migrations to AWS and enable automation across software delivery processes. By collaborating closely with development teams, you will ensure security, scalability and high performance within AWS environments, driving continuous improvement to enhance overall DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and automate workflows to improve efficiency
  • Migrate applications and workloads to AWS while optimizing cost, security and performance
  • Build and maintain AWS environments ensuring high availability and reliability
  • Propose and enhance Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards and practices
  • Provide technical support on CI/CD pipelines and IaC to development teams
  • Implement and optimize cloud monitoring solutions and set up performance alerts
  • Oversee the full release process ensuring smooth deployments in AWS environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployments aligned with business goals
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead automation initiatives for cost efficiency and scalability

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing AWS production environments
  • Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation and IAM
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS networking: VPC, Route 53, Direct Connect, Load Balancers, API Gateway
  • Practical experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and container orchestration in AWS
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, DataDog, Prometheus) and alerting systems
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation for IaC
  • Proficiency in implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance approaches
  • Familiarity with AWS cost management and optimization techniques
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

  • Programming skills in Java 21 or Python
  • Understanding of financial and business risk domains
  • Experience with native AI cloud services (AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Azure AI)
  • Exposure to building and operating AI-driven agents and frameworks
  • Familiarity with coding automation tools such as Claude Code, OpenCode or Cursor
