Senior AWS DevOps Engineer – IaC, Serverless, CDK, Terraform, Python, OIDC, IAM Rules – Outside IR35
A standout contract opportunity with a global, market-leading B2B SaaS organisation undergoing a greenfield platform build involving AI adoption, and modern engineering practices. We’re expanding our UK DevOps function and looking for a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer with extensive IaC, serverless and security experience who can operate with high autonomy, make strong technical decisions, and communicate clearly across both technical and non-technical teams.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable, resilient AWS serverless infrastructure
- Developing automation, tooling, and workflow orchestration using Python and TypeScript
- Implementing complex workflows using AWS Step Functions, Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB Streams, and API Gateway
- Building and maintaining IaC using AWS CDK, Terraform, and CloudFormation
- Implementing modern identity and access patterns including OIDC, IAM roles
- Enhancing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
- Collaborating effectively with engineering, product, and security teams; communicating decisions, trade-offs, and risks with clarity
- Taking full ownership of tasks from design through delivery, operating independently and making sound technical judgments
- Supporting incident response, including escalation, resolution, and post-incident improvements
- Documenting systems, processes, and technical decisions with precision
- Handling context switching effectively when priorities shift
- Reducing technical debt and improving operational maturity across environments
- Maintaining a strong security and compliance mindset in all designs and implementations
- Stepping up during high-pressure events, escalations, and critical incidents
- Ensuring reliable availability during agreed working hours

You’ll have deep, hands-on experience with AWS development and production environments where availability, resilience, and security are non-negotiable. We’re especially interested in engineers with strong capability across:
- Lambda (Python & TypeScript)
- Step Functions
- DynamoDB & DynamoDB Streams
- EventBridge
- API Gateway
- IAM roles, permission boundaries, OIDC-based identity flows
- CDK, Terraform & Cloud Formation
You should also bring excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions, influence stakeholders, and provide clear updates during incidents or delivery cycles.
Contract Details:
- £550 - £600 per day Outside IR35
- 100% remote
- 8 months rolling
