Senior Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) / Microsoft Entra ID Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) / Microsoft Entra ID Engineer to design, implement, manage and secure enterprise identity and access management environments.

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), hybrid identity, Active Directory, Conditional Access, Identity Governance, MFA and Microsoft 365. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, cloud and application teams to deliver secure and scalable identity solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and administer Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory environments.
  • Manage hybrid identity integrations between on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Configure and manage Azure AD Connect / Microsoft Entra Connect, including synchronisation and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and manage Conditional Access policies, MFA and authentication controls.
  • Manage Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations for enterprise and third-party applications.
  • Configure and support SAML, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect authentication.
  • Manage Enterprise Applications, App Registrations and Service Principals.
  • Implement Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Manage identity lifecycle processes including joiner, mover and leaver workflows.
  • Support Identity Governance, access reviews and entitlement management.
  • Manage security groups, dynamic groups and administrative roles.
  • Support Microsoft 365 identity and access management.
  • Troubleshoot authentication, synchronisation, federation and access-related issues.
  • Work with security teams to identify and remediate identity-related vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and maintain identity management standards, documentation and operational procedures.
  • Support migration from traditional Active Directory / Azure AD environments to Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Automate identity administration and operational tasks using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
  • Participate in major incidents, technical investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.

Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD.
  • Azure AD tenant administration and configuration.
  • Conditional Access.
  • MFA and authentication methods.
  • Enterprise Applications and App Registrations.
  • Service Principals and Managed Identities.
  • RBAC and administrative roles.
  • Identity Governance and Access Reviews.
  • Privileged Identity Management (PIM).

Active Directory

  • Strong knowledge of Windows Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
  • Active Directory Users and Computers, Groups and Group Policy.
  • DNS and LDAP fundamentals.
  • Domain Controllers and AD replication.
  • Active Directory security and permissions.
  • Hybrid identity architecture.

Hybrid Identity

  • Microsoft Entra Connect / Azure AD Connect.
  • Password Hash Synchronisation (PHS).
  • Pass-through Authentication (PTA).
  • Seamless Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • Federation / ADFS knowledge is advantageous.
  • Troubleshooting synchronisation issues.

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100).
  • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900).
