PBI's flagship products and services, PBI Axiom, PBI Vector, and PBI Stratus, enable alternative asset managers to address their data challenges in analytics, workflow, governance, and security.
PBI is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud & Platform Engineer.
The successful candidate will act as the technical owner of the Azure platform, working closely with external development and engineering partners. They will ensure that deployed systems align with the intended architecture, support secure and stable operations, and improve ownership across Identity and Access Management, Disaster Recovery, and Monitoring and Observability.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the Azure environment, including subscriptions, landing zones, networking, connectivity and platform dependencies
- Validate that deployed infrastructure aligns with documented architecture and security requirements
- Investigate issues across infrastructure, APIs, applications and integrations
- Review Entra ID, Azure RBAC, PIM, privileged access, service identities and supplier access
- Ensure least-privilege principles and effective joiner, mover and leaver processes
- Assess disaster-recovery capabilities, including dependencies, RTOs, RPOs, backups, runbooks, responsibilities and test evidence
- Review monitoring coverage, alerts, dashboards, escalation processes and operational blind spots
- Read, modify and improve Terraform configurations
- Support CI/CD pipelines and create scripts or small automation tools when required
- Diagnose production issues and develop practical runbooks and technical documentation
- Act as the internal technical counterpart to external providers, reviewing and constructively challenging proposed changes
- Identify gaps between documented design, deployed configuration and actual operating practice
- Communicate risks, findings and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements
Essential
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Experience supporting live, business-critical production environments
- Experience across cloud architecture, platform engineering and operations
- Practical Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform
- Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Azure RBAC and PIM
- Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and incident investigation
- Understanding of disaster recovery, backups, RTOs, RPOs and recovery testing
- Experience working with API-driven services and distributed platforms
- Ability to troubleshoot across infrastructure, applications and integrations
- Familiarity with scripting, automation and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong technical documentation and runbook-development skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership and exercise sound technical judgement
- Confidence working with and challenging external technical partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable
- Experience across both Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps permissions and platform access controls
- Experience conducting cloud-platform assessments or technical discovery
- Experience supporting security audits, including Cyber Essentials Plus
- Experience reviewing disaster-recovery strategies and monitoring frameworks
- Experience working with multiple external technology suppliers
