Senior Azure Consultant
💰 Up to £80,000 plus bonus
📍 Remote, with a small number of mandatory office visits across the year

This role sits with one of the most heavily credentialled Microsoft partners in the UK, a consultancy built entirely around Azure and holding top tier Microsoft Solutions Partner status across infrastructure, data and AI, security and app innovation. They take customers from assessment and design through migration, build and ongoing optimisation, rather than picking up one slice of the work.
They are hiring a Senior Azure Consultant / Architect to sit at the front of that delivery. You will own the design, take customers through workshops, stand behind the architecture and stay close enough to the build to get your hands dirty. The role spans Azure infrastructure and platform services, infrastructure as code, and the security design that sits inside any well built Azure estate. You will also support pre sales, so your involvement starts well before the statement of work is signed.
This is a cloud role first and foremost. Security is part of the design rather than the job, and exposure to Azure Data or Azure AI is welcome without being the focus.

Key Responsibilities
- Design Azure solutions across IaaS and PaaS, covering migration, greenfield builds and modernisation of existing estates.
- Run discovery and design workshops with technical and business stakeholders, turning requirements into landing zones, target architectures and design documentation others can build from.
- Build and deploy using infrastructure as code and repeatable patterns, with pipelines rather than portal clicks.
- Embed security into every design, spanning identity, network design, policy, role based access and platform level protection.
- Support pre sales through scoping, estimating, proposals and technical assurance, and get in front of prospective customers where it helps win the work.
- Stay hands on through deployment, then hand over cleanly to customer or managed service teams.
- Set technical standards, build reusable assets and mentor consultants and engineers across the delivery team.

Ideal Experience
Essential
- Strong, rounded Azure experience across IaaS and PaaS. Compute, networking, storage, identity, app services and containers, monitoring, backup and resilience.
- Consultancy delivery from inside another Microsoft partner. This one is not flexible. You will have worked customer facing across multiple engagements and understand how partner delivery actually runs.
- Infrastructure as code as a default way of working, using Terraform or Bicep, with CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Architecture ownership. Landing zone design, Cloud Adoption Framework and Well Architected Framework thinking, and documentation that stands up to scrutiny.
- Confident running workshops and design sessions, including with stakeholders who do not agree with each other.
- Security built into your designs as standard, across Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy, network segmentation and Defender for Cloud, without needing to be a dedicated security architect.
Desirable
- Exposure to Azure Data or Azure AI work, for example Microsoft Fabric, Azure OpenAI or Microsoft Foundry.
- Migration depth across Windows Server and SQL Server workloads, VMware estates or Azure VMware Solution.
- AKS and containerised workloads.
- Certifications such as AZ-305, AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-400, AZ-500/SC-500 or HashiCorp Terraform Associate.
