About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team on a 6-month initial contract basis. This role is pivotal in designing and establishing modern DevOps capabilities within a greenfield Azure environment. As a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer, you will take a lead role in developing continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, automating infrastructure, and implementing cloud governance and security best practices. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating a scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure that aligns with organizational objectives and industry standards.
This position offers a hybrid working arrangement based in Bristol, providing flexibility for remote work while maintaining close collaboration with the team onsite. The role is inside IR35, offering a competitive daily rate of £650, and is ideal for professionals looking to leverage their DevOps expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with proven experience in Azure DevOps and cloud infrastructure automation. Relevant qualifications include hands-on experience with Azure services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, and scripting languages. Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-400 are highly desirable and demonstrate a commitment to professional development. Candidates should have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively across teams, and a proactive approach to implementing best practices in DevOps and security.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps and GitHub to facilitate seamless software delivery.
- Build, manage, and optimize Azure infrastructure components using Terraform, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Automate configuration management and deployment processes through Ansible and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Establish and enforce DevOps standards, including branching strategies, release processes, and deployment methodologies.
- Integrate security, compliance, and quality assurance checks into the delivery pipelines to uphold organizational standards and industry regulations.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure, development, security, and architecture teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of DevOps practices.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud environments, providing ongoing improvements to enhance system performance and security.
