Senior Azure DevOps Engineer

Manchester / Hybrid
£70,000

Multiple development teams. Different branching strategies, different release processes and too much engineering time spent troubleshooting delivery issues.

You’ll come in to change that.

This is a senior Azure DevOps role with genuine ownership. You’ll design and build the processes, pipelines and standards that bring development teams onto a consistent way of working. The foundations are there, but the CI/CD environment needs maturing. You’ll assess what currently exists, define what good looks like and build the templates and processes to take it forward.

What you’ll own

  • Designing and building Azure DevOps pipelines using YAML
  • Creating a consistent branching strategy across multiple development teams
  • Improving and standardising release management processes
  • Consolidating delivery tooling and processes within Azure DevOps
  • Building reusable pipeline templates and deployment standards
  • Developing mature CI/CD practices across development, test and production
  • Working with engineering teams to implement and follow those standards
  • Supporting teams through the transition and resolving pipeline and release issues
  • Taking ownership from initial design through to implementation and continuous improvement

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience with Bicep, Terraform or wider infrastructure tooling would be useful, but it isn’t the main focus.

We’re looking for someone whose experience is centred on Azure DevOps rather than a broad Platform Engineering or SRE remit.

You’ll be the person setting the direction, building the foundations and making delivery easier for every engineering team.
