The Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer & Architect to join our London-based Production Technology team. This is a senior, hands-on role combining Azure infrastructure engineering, solution architecture and customer-facing technical engagement. You will design, build and evolve secure, scalable and highly available Azure environments while working closely with engineering, operations, architecture and customer teams.
Alongside delivery, you will support pre-sales engagements by understanding customer requirements, shaping Azure solutions and clearly communicating technical designs, trade-offs and implementation approaches to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential:
- Azure Experience: 5+ years’ hands-on experience in Azure Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Architecture or similar, with responsibility for production environments. Strong engineering experience across Azure infrastructure, compute, networking, security, identity and platform services.
- Architecture & Customer Engagement: Proven ability to translate business and customer requirements into robust cloud architectures, clearly communicating technical decisions, risks and trade-offs. Comfortable leading discovery, solution design, workshops, technical presentations and pre-sales discussions.
- Terraform & Infrastructure as Code: Strong production experience with Terraform, including reusable modules, remote state, environment management and established IaC engineering practices. Experience with other IaC or configuration automation tools is advantageous.
- DevOps & Automation: Strong practical experience with GitHub and Azure DevOps, including source control, code reviews, CI/CD and automated infrastructure deployments, plus scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
- Networking, Security & Operations: Strong Linux knowledge and advanced understanding of Azure networking, identity and security, with hands-on experience of monitoring, logging, alerting, troubleshooting and supporting highly available production systems.
- Kubernetes & AKS: Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting and operating production containerised workloads using Kubernetes and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Azure Governance & Certification: Experience with Azure Landing Zones, including subscriptions, management groups, policy, identity, networking, cost management and Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework alignment. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert is required; Azure Network Engineer Associate or another relevant Azure certification is advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
