Senior Azure Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Systems Engineer to be responsible for building, operating, and maintaining enterprise-grade system infrastructure natively on Microsoft Azure, as well as managing complex hybrid-cloud environments. This role acts as a bridge between traditional systems administration and modern cloud operations, focus areas including operating system management (Linux/Windows), hybrid connectivity, virtualization, and identity systems within the cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hybrid Systems Infrastructure: Build and manage scalable architectures linking on-premises systems, legacy datacenters, and edge networks directly to Microsoft Azure using technologies like Azure Arc and ExpressRoute.
  • OS & Workload Engineering: Supervise the deployment, configuration, licensing, and security patching of enterprise virtualised infrastructure, including Windows Server and Enterprise Linux distributions running inside Azure compute layers.
  • Identity & Directory Services: Manage enterprise identity management fabrics, including Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Entra Domain Services, active directory sync topologies, and role-based access management (RBAC).
  • Systems Automation: Eliminate manual administrative tasks by writing robust automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and deployment frameworks like ARM templates or Azure Bicep.
  • Business Continuity: Architect, routinely test, and maintain enterprise backup topologies and disaster recovery strategies using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
  • Performance Operations: Monitor OS-level performance, troubleshoot deep system bottlenecks, manage enterprise logging via Log Analytics, and configure alerts through Azure Monitor.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
