Senior Back-End Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer based in United Kingdom.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced back-end developer to contribute to the continued evolution of a modern workforce management platform.

You will focus on developing scalable back-end services and building key integrations through robust APIs and microservices.

The role combines hands-on engineering with meaningful involvement in product and feature design discussions.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data analysts, and front-end engineers to deliver impactful solutions.

Working with technologies such as .NET Core, C#, PostgreSQL, AWS, and message brokers, you will contribute to a modern technical environment.

The position offers strong opportunities for continuous learning, technical growth, and exposure to emerging technologies and methodologies.

With a fully remote setup and flexible working arrangements, you will have the autonomy to do your best work while collaborating with a distributed team.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and enhance back-end features, APIs, and microservices while contributing to the continued scaling and improvement of the product.
  • Build and maintain integrations with external platforms and services using robust, well-designed APIs and established integration standards.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of new features, providing technical feedback and recommendations during product planning discussions.
  • Ensure code quality, engineering standards, reliability, and maintainability while meeting agreed deadlines and delivery targets.
  • Work closely with product managers and data analysts to understand requirements and identify opportunities to improve the overall product experience.
  • Collaborate with designers and front-end developers to ensure technical implementations effectively support product designs and user experience goals.
  • Participate in an Agile development environment, contributing to planning, delivery, continuous improvement, and effective team collaboration.
  • Apply appropriate development methodologies, tools, and emerging technologies to continuously improve engineering practices and product capabilities.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of professional commercial software development experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with .NET and C#, preferably including .NET Core.
  • At least 2 years of SQL experience, preferably with PostgreSQL and Entity Framework Core.
  • Experience working with the OpenAPI standard and designing or consuming API-based services.
  • Experience with message brokers, particularly RabbitMQ, is an advantage.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud and cloud-based application environments is an advantage.
  • Practical experience working in Agile software development environments, particularly Kanban.
  • Previous experience collaborating effectively within remote or distributed teams is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to code quality, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A willingness to continuously learn, adopt new technologies, and contribute ideas throughout the product development process.
  • Availability to collaborate within UTC to UTC+8 time zones.
