The Role

This company is building an AI operating system for industries burdened by fragmented, unstructured data, enabling non-technical teams to make data-driven decisions. They tackle a massive, underserved market, transforming legacy systems into structured, queryable data with the power of LLMs. This is a chance to build foundational technology with significant impact, backed by leading investors.

As the first US tech hire, you'll work directly with AI researcher founders, owning the backend system end-to-end. This is a foundational, high-ownership seat, not a role with hand-holding or a narrow, pre-defined scope. You'll set the standards for architecture, data quality, and deployment, shaping the technical direction from day one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Work

  • Design and own data pipelines from ingestion through cleaning and transformation.
  • Build orchestration workflows (Airflow-style DAGs) to ensure reliable data movement.
  • Integrate messy customer systems—on-prem databases, CSV dumps, SFTP, legacy ERPs—into structured, queryable data.
  • Develop the APIs and backend services that serve critical insights.
  • Define patterns for CI/CD, testing, deploy automation, and shape the overall architecture.

What You Bring

  • 5-6+ years building and shipping backend services (exceptional mid-level engineers with 2-3 years will be considered).
  • Strong Python across APIs and services; comfortable designing workflows, scheduling jobs, and operating orchestration tools.
  • Owned end-to-end data pipelines, on Airflow-style DAGs or custom, with reliable and observable data movement.
  • A driven builder who thrives on startup intensity, with a track record of shipping projects.
  • Backend is your strength; comfort talking to customers is a bonus, not a requirement.
