The Role
This company is building an AI operating system for the parts and equipment industries. Think automotive spare-parts distributors, construction, agriculture – businesses sitting on vast, fragmented, unstructured data across legacy systems. They're bringing modern AI to a blue-collar world, backed by leading VCs and founded by AI researchers. This isn't another consumer app; it's a deep technical challenge with real-world impact.
You'll be one of the first US tech hires, working directly with the founders to build this system end-to-end. This is a foundational role: you'll own data ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and the backend services that serve insights. It's not a narrow feature-team role; it's about shaping the architecture, setting standards, and defining the engineering culture from day one. Expect intense work, but also the rare chance to build the core product of a fast-growing company.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Work
- Design, build, and own end-to-end data pipelines, from raw ingestion through cleaning and transformation.
- Develop robust orchestration workflows (Airflow-style DAGs) to ensure reliable, observable data movement.
- Integrate deeply with messy, legacy customer systems – on-prem databases, SFTP, CSV dumps, ERPs – to structure fragmented data.
- Architect and develop the core APIs and backend services that power AI insights for non-technical users.
- Define the engineering standards for data quality, schema evolution, observability, CI/CD, and deployment automation.
What You Bring
- 5+ years shipping backend services, ideally in an early-stage or fast-paced environment. (Exceptional mid-level engineers with 2-3 years will be considered.)
- Deep expertise in Python for APIs, services, workflow design, job scheduling, and orchestration tools.
- Proven ownership of end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring reliable and observable data movement.
- A builder's mindset: you thrive on startup intensity, have a track record of shipping, and are not looking for a 9-to-5.
- Your primary strength is backend engineering; this is not a full-stack or frontend-focused role.
