About Juuli

Juuli is an AI-native fintech platform built exclusively for UK&Europe’s 43M+ solopreneurs. We bring payments, cards, FX, invoicing and tax automation into one place, with 90-second onboarding and AI at the core of the product. We are a lean, London-based team, and every senior hire here has a direct impact on how we grow.

The Role

You will own the technical core of Juuli’s e-money operations: wallets, ledger, safeguarding, payments and FX, built on PHP and MySQL. You will be part of our governance structure, making sure the systems that hold and move customer money are correct, auditable and ready for regulatory scrutiny. You will work directly with the founders and our compliance team.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build and run our e-money platform in PHP and MySQL: wallets, double-entry ledger, balances, holds and fund flows
  • Model financial data in MySQL with strict correctness: transactions, locking, isolation levels and idempotent writes
  • Build safeguarding into the system: segregation of customer funds, daily reconciliation, break detection and reporting
  • Design and integrate payment flows across payment schemes (e.g. SEPA, Faster Payments), card programmes and our licensed partners’ APIs
  • Build FX capabilities: multi-currency balances, conversion, pricing and settlement
  • Take part in governance: provide technical input to risk, compliance, safeguarding, incident and audit processes
  • Document our systems and controls clearly for compliance, auditors, partners and regulators
  • Set engineering standards for reliability, testing, auditability, security and observability
  • Work closely with product, compliance and fraud teams to build controls into the product by design
  • Review code, mentor engineers and shape how we build

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
