About The Role
ISR Recruitment is working with a leading global software organization to recruit an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join its Product & Engineering team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned software engineer to contribute to the development of a next-generation B2B SaaS platform. The role involves shaping the architecture, engineering standards, and ongoing evolution of a highly scalable, secure, and multi-tenant product used by organizations worldwide. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing backend solutions that support the company's innovative cloud-native SaaS offerings.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in delivering B2B SaaS products, particularly within multi-tenant environments. They will bring a deep understanding of modern backend development practices, cloud deployment, and scalable architecture. This position offers remote working options within the UK and Ireland, providing flexibility and work-life balance for the right candidate. Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years' commercial software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development. Candidates should have extensive experience delivering B2B SaaS products in a professional environment, demonstrating a solid understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architectures. A proven history of career stability and progression within engineering teams is essential.
Technical proficiency in C#,.NET Core, and modern.NET frameworks (preferably.NET 8 and/or.NET 10) is required. Candidates should have hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying production software within the Microsoft technology stack. Strong skills in developing RESTful APIs, backend services, relational databases, and SQL are necessary. Additionally, experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, is highly desirable. Knowledge of related tools and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Service Bus, and version control systems like Git/GitHub will be advantageous.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will lead the design and development of the company's cloud-native SaaS platform. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services, APIs, and reusable libraries that support the platform's functionality.
- Developing high-quality, clean, and testable code using C# and modern.NET technologies.
- Participating in architectural decisions to ensure the platform remains scalable, secure, and resilient.
- Creating RESTful APIs and backend services to be consumed by web and mobile applications.
- Building event-driven and asynchronous components utilizing technologies such as Azure Service Bus.
- Working with relational databases to develop efficient SQL queries and database schemas.
- Deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications within Microsoft Azure environment.
- Engaging in automated testing, conducting code reviews, and adhering to engineering best practices.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring and performance optimization.
- Collaborating within an Agile environment to deliver iterative enhancements and features.
- Translating functional and technical requirements into robust, production-ready software solutions.
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the enhancement of engineering standards across the team.

This role offers a competitive salary ranging from c£60,000 to £80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
