Job Description: Backend Developer
This is a remote position.
This company is a Web3 player offering a unified API to access all on-chain liquidity across major blockchains in order to simplify multi-chain DeFi for traditional financial institutions, fintechs and service providers, for best price same-chain and cross-chain swaps.
They are looking for a Backend Developer with a dedicated focus on integrating Hyperliquid functionalities into their API platform. This role is backend-only (no frontend or design work required) letting you shape core integrations at the infrastructure layer.
Please note: You must be located in the EMEA region. Your application will not be considered otherwise.
Missions
- Extend the company’s API stack to include Hyperliquid ecosystem projects and feature set
- Collaborate closely with the Expansion PM and other backend engineers to improve integrations, routing, and user flows; help evaluate new opportunities for feature extension.
- Ensure robust, high-quality backend code, focusing on scalability and reliability for same-chain and cross-chain trading.
- Participate in code reviews, system design, and documentation.
Technical Ecosystem
Backend: Typescript, EVM and integration patterns
Hyperliquid: builder codes (spot, perps), HIP-3, precompiles, and HyperEVM

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
The company prioritizes candidates who show genuine excitement for Hyperliquid and demonstrate technical familiarity with its protocols. Expect conversations where you can showcase prior Hyperliquid-related projects and discuss ideas for future integration work. Prior Hyperliquid work experience IS NOT a requirement per se but the employer will test your understanding through interview discussions and portfolio review.
This is a remote role but you must be located in the EMEA regions (or potentially APAC region overlapping with EU hours)
- Interest in Hyperliquid and its protocols, eager to help the company distribute programmatic trading features (e.g., TWAP, perps) to the broader DeFi ecosystem through performant backend systems.
- Familiarity with Hyperliquid’s architecture: You understand builder codes (spot, perps), HIP-3, precompiles, and HyperEVM at a design level and keep up with evolving documentation.
- Hyperliquid focus: You are passionate about the Hyperliquid ecosystem and be able to demonstrate your familiarity with the ecosystem — past projects or self-driven exploration are valued
- Orderbook fundamentals: You grasp the mechanics of orderbooks and are comfortable working with programmatic trading features
- Backend focus: Solid backend engineering background, especially with EVM and integration patterns; front-end or modal design work is not expected.
- TypeScript proficiency: Experience building scalable APIs and backend systems in TypeScript.
- Independence: Can drive integrations and new feature proposals with minimal oversight, collaborating effectively in a remote-first team.
- Cross-chain experience: Experience with bridges and backend infrastructure supporting a multi-chain environment is highly valued.
- Bonus: Familiarity with Solana, Bitcoin, or mobile backend development.
