Role Overview

We are partnering with a globally recognised intelligence, data and technology organisation whose products help customers make critical decisions in complex and fast-moving environments. Their engineering teams are building modern, cloud-native platforms that deliver highly valuable information products to customers around the world.

As a Senior Back End Engineer, you will join a close-knit engineering team responsible for a core system of record platform. Working within a "you build it, you own it" environment, you will take ownership of services throughout their lifecycle, from design and development through to deployment, monitoring and production support.

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working with intricate data models and collaborating with architects, analysts and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You'll have the opportunity to work with modern AWS technologies, cloud-native architectures and large-scale data platforms in a highly collaborative environment.

The team operates a hybrid working model, with two days per week in the Manchester office.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
