Backend Engineer (Python/FastAPI) - AI-Native Product Engineering
£90,000 - £100,000
Hybrid (London/Remote)
If you're the kind of engineer who reaches for AI tooling as naturally as your IDE, enjoys solving real product problems, and prefers building new systems over maintaining legacy code, this could be the role for you.
We're working with a well-funded, rapidly scaling property technology business that's transforming a traditionally fragmented industry through AI, automation and modern software engineering. Following significant investment and strategic acquisitions, they're building the technology platform that will power the next stage of their growth.
This is an opportunity to join an engineering team where speed, ownership and modern development practices are encouraged, not constrained by process.
What you'll be building
As a Backend Engineer, you'll help design and develop the APIs and services that power a rapidly growing platform. Working closely with product managers, designers and fellow engineers, you'll ship features quickly, influence technical decisions and help shape how engineering is done as the business scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
