I'm partnering with a rapidly scaling technology company that's building a sophisticated software platform used by customers across multiple international markets.
Following significant growth, they're looking for experienced Backend Engineers who enjoy solving complex engineering problems, building scalable systems, and working alongside a world-class product and engineering team.
π Hybrid β London (4 days per week in the office)
π· Β£120,000βΒ£160,000 Base + Equity
π The Opportunity
You'll be joining a high-performing engineering team responsible for designing and building the core platform that powers a fast-growing global business.
Your work will involve:
π³ Building scalable backend services
π³ Designing distributed systems that operate at scale
π³ Developing APIs supporting high volumes of traffic
π³ Building reliable transaction and workflow services
π³ Delivering AI-enabled product capabilities
π³ Improving platform performance, resilience and scalability
π³ Taking products from concept through to production

π³ What You'll Do
You'll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to deliver features that have measurable customer and business impact.
Responsibilities include:
π³ Building backend services using Node.js and TypeScript
π³ Designing robust, maintainable software
π³ Solving complex performance and scalability challenges
π³ Contributing to technical architecture and engineering best practices
π³ Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams in a highly collaborative, office-first engineering culture
π³ Mentoring engineers and promoting high technical standards
π³ Shipping high-quality software in a fast-moving environment

π± What We're Looking For
You'll likely have:
π³ Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript
π³ Experience building scalable backend platforms
π³ A product mindset and customer-first approach
π³ Experience working within high-growth technology businesses
π³ Startup or scale-up experience with a high level of ownership
π³ Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
π³ An interest in AI and modern software engineering
π³ Ability to work from the London office 4 days per week, collaborating closely with an exceptional engineering team
