About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Node.js Developer to join a forward-thinking SaaS business based in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a new greenfield platform within a small, collaborative development team. The position is initially for three months, with the possibility of extension, and is outside IR35. The role offers flexibility with mostly remote work, with occasional visits to our central Manchester office for key meetings. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality backend solutions, working efficiently through a backlog of feature development tickets, and contributing to a cutting-edge platform that aims to transform the company's SaaS offerings.

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in backend development using Node.js and Typescript.
- Proficiency with cloud services, particularly AWS, including deployment, scaling, and management of cloud-based applications.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and managing a ticket-driven development process.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of database management, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Optional but beneficial experience with frontend technologies such as React or Next.js.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain robust backend solutions primarily using Node.js and Typescript.
- Collaborate closely with the product team to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Work through a backlog of tickets efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of features and improvements.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices to support the platform's functionality.
- Integrate cloud services and manage deployment processes on AWS.
- Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and sprint planning to ensure high-quality output.
- Maintain documentation of technical specifications and system architecture.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure platform stability and performance.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into development processes.
