About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Node.js Developer to join our team for an initial three-month engagement, with the possibility of extension. The role is primarily remote, with occasional visits to our office in central Manchester for key meetings. You will work on a new greenfield platform within a small, agile development team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of a sophisticated SaaS solution. This position offers an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role in building a robust, scalable backend infrastructure using Node.js and Typescript, with a focus on delivering high-quality features aligned with our roadmap.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of efficiently managing and completing a high volume of tickets, demonstrating a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Your contributions will directly influence the success of the new platform, and your expertise will help shape the future capabilities of our SaaS offerings.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Extensive experience developing backend applications using Node.js and Typescript.
- Solid understanding of AWS services and cloud-based architectures.
- Proven ability to handle a high workload of feature tickets efficiently.
- Experience working on greenfield projects and delivering scalable solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
- Experience with full-stack development, particularly with React or Next.js, is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Developing, testing, and deploying backend features using Node.js and Typescript in accordance with project requirements.
- Collaborating with product managers and frontend developers to deliver seamless and efficient solutions.
- Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews to ensure code quality and project transparency.
- Managing and resolving tickets efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of features and bug fixes.
- Designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures aligned with best practices.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Ensuring the security, reliability, and performance of the platform.
- Supporting deployment processes and assisting in troubleshooting production issues when necessary.
