Accountabilities:
- Design and develop backend solutions: Build, maintain, and optimize reliable, scalable, and high-performance backend applications using technologies such as C#,.NET, C++, or other relevant programming languages and frameworks.
- Implement modern architectures: Apply contemporary backend architecture principles, including microservices, modular design, and distributed systems, to deliver maintainable and efficient software solutions.
- Develop cloud-based applications: Build, deploy, and maintain software on cloud infrastructure, leveraging platforms such as Microsoft Azure and AWS to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Manage databases and data access: Design, integrate, and optimize relational databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and MySQL, to support application functionality and data integrity.
- Contribute to technical architecture: Participate in architectural decisions, evaluate technologies, and identify opportunities to improve system design, maintainability, and engineering efficiency.
- Support deployment and delivery: Apply DevOps principles and collaborate on continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes to streamline development, testing, and deployment.
- Solve complex technical challenges: Investigate issues, troubleshoot defects, identify root causes, and implement robust solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders: Work directly with clients and cross-functional teams to understand project objectives, communicate technical recommendations, and deliver software solutions aligned with expectations.
- Ensure software quality: Follow engineering best practices, contribute to code reviews, and promote reliable, secure, and maintainable software development.
- Work independently and proactively: Take ownership of assigned tasks, manage priorities effectively, and contribute to project delivery within a collaborative, remote-first environment.
- Participate in the future hiring program: Complete the relevant recruitment assessments and remain connected for upcoming engineering opportunities, enabling a potentially faster transition when a suitable position becomes available.

Requirements:
- Professional experience: At least five years of commercial software development experience, particularly in backend engineering. Candidates across different seniority levels will be considered, starting from five years of professional experience.
- Backend programming expertise: Proficiency in multiple backend programming languages and frameworks, such as C#, .NET, C++, or comparable technologies.
- Modern architecture knowledge: Practical experience with contemporary backend architecture principles, including microservices and the development of scalable, maintainable applications.
- Cloud engineering experience: Demonstrated experience building and deploying cloud-based solutions, ideally using Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Database proficiency: Familiarity with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL, including their use in production applications.
- Software architecture skills: The ability to contribute to technical design decisions, evaluate architectural approaches, and develop robust solutions for complex engineering requirements.
- DevOps and CI/CD knowledge: An understanding of DevOps principles, automated delivery workflows, and continuous integration and deployment tools is an advantage.
- Client-facing experience: Previous experience working directly with clients, managing technical expectations, and delivering software engineering projects in a professional environment.
- Problem-solving ability: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to investigate complex issues and implement effective solutions independently.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with distributed teams.
- Educational background: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent qualification.
- Remote working capabilities: The ability to work effectively in a fully remote, full-time position while maintaining strong collaboration, accountability, and delivery standards.
- European residency: Candidates must reside in Europe to be eligible for the program.
- Proactive mindset: A self-sufficient, adaptable, and motivated approach to engineering, with a willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to evolving client requirements.
