Job Overview
The post holder is responsible for the daily operations and performance of two cafes at Sunflowers Court & Trust Headquarters. This role involves leading and motivating the baristas, ensuring a high standard of customer service and product quality, ensuring compliance with health and safety and food regulations, and supporting personal growth of the team.
Main Duties of the Job
- Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the two cafés on the Goodmayes site, ensuring continuity of service and resolving routine operational issues.
- Line manage café staff, undertaking regular supervision, sickness absence management, return-to-work discussions, appraisal processes and attendance monitoring in accordance with Trust policies.
- Lead staff induction, competency assessments and ongoing training, supporting the development of café staff, volunteers and service users participating in café activities.
- Support recruitment activities, including shortlisting, interviewing and selection of café staff as required.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are consistently delivered and respond appropriately to customer feedback, concerns and complaints, escalating complex issues where necessary.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and infection prevention in accordance with Trust policies, legislative requirements and best practice guidance.
- Undertake regular audits and inspections relating to food hygiene, health and safety, infection prevention, environmental standards and operational compliance, implementing corrective actions where required.

Starting with NELFT (delete for internal only)
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Goodmayes Hospital.

High Cost Area Supplement Outer London (B&D, Redbridge, Havering and Waltham Forest, CEME)
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
