Senior Business Development Manager - UK

Location: UK-based, with regular travel to a Farnborough office
Salary: £90,000-£110,000 base + uncapped commission
OTE: £150,000-£170,000+

We're partnering with a well-established global technology business specialising in corporate spend, payments and expense management solutions. With more than 30 years in the market and operations across the UK, Australia, New Zealand and North America, the business is entering an exciting phase of UK growth and is looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to take ownership of new business development across the UK market.

This is a senior, hands-on sales role suited to someone who knows how to open doors, build relationships from scratch and navigate complex enterprise sales cycles.

The role

You'll be responsible for driving new revenue across the UK, developing strategic relationships with banks, payment providers, fintechs and enterprise organisations. Working closely with the executive team, you'll have significant autonomy and ownership over your territory, pipeline and go-to-market approach.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Generating and closing new enterprise business across the UK.
  • Building a high-quality sales pipeline from the ground up.
  • Developing relationships across banking, payments, fintech and financial services.
  • Identifying opportunities across commercial cards, virtual cards, expense management and spend management.
  • Building strategic account plans for major financial institutions.
  • Developing referral, channel and partner relationships.
  • Managing complex, medium-to-long enterprise sales cycles from initial outreach through to contract.
  • Presenting commercial proposals and business cases to senior and executive stakeholders.
  • Working closely with senior leadership, product and solutions teams to progress opportunities.

What we're looking for

We're looking for an established enterprise sales professional with a strong track record of winning new business. You'll ideally bring:

  • Extensive experience in B2B enterprise sales or business development.
  • A proven track record of building your own pipeline and closing complex deals.
  • Experience selling into banks, payment providers, fintech businesses or large financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK financial services landscape.
  • Experience across areas such as payments, commercial cards, expense management, spend management, FX, procurement technology or enterprise SaaS.
  • An existing network across UK banking, payments or enterprise financial services.
  • Confidence selling to senior and C-level decision makers.
  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder groups, procurement processes and long sales cycles.
  • A highly proactive, new-business-focused sales approach.
  • The ability to work independently and take full accountability for commercial results.
