Clean Cell US is Building a Senior BESS Delivery Team
Contract / Part-Time / Project-Based Opportunities
Charleston, SC + Remote / Project Travel
Clean Cell US is expanding its U.S. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business and is seeking highly experienced professionals interested in flexible, part-time or project-based work.
We particularly welcome retired, semi-retired and independent professionals who have spent their careers in energy storage, utility power, electrical engineering, EPC, certification, commissioning, controls or renewable energy and want to continue applying that experience without returning to a traditional full-time corporate position.
Clean Cell is establishing four senior specialist Delivery Team roles that will work under a designated Clean Cell US W-2 delivery lead to manage projects from contract award through engineering, certification, procurement, fabrication, FAT, installation, commissioning and service handoff.
Part-Time Contract | Approximately 10–20 hours/week
Overall responsibility for successful project execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Customer and commercial interface
- Project scope, schedule and budget
- Engineering and procurement coordination
- Supplier and contractor management
- Project risk and change management
- Fabrication and FAT coordination
- Installation and commissioning schedule
- Customer acceptance and project closeout

We are looking for substantial experience delivering complex BESS, utility, EPC, renewable-energy or industrial electrical projects.
Clean Cell US W-2 Delivery Leadership
Robert H. Bucher, Founder & CEO, will serve as the Clean Cell US W-2 executive sponsor and final decision authority. All final approvals of design changes, supplier substitutions, manufacturing release and customer commitments will flow through this role, supported by the recommendations and documented work of the specialist Delivery Team.

We are particularly interested in professionals with substantial, proven practical industry experience and sound judgment. Veterans of the industry, including retired and semi-retired professionals, are strongly encouraged to apply.
You may have previously been a:
- Chief or Senior Electrical Engineer
- BESS Systems Engineer
- UL/NRTL Certification Engineer
- Utility Engineer
- EPC Project Director
- Power Systems Engineer
- Controls/SCADA Engineer
- Commissioning Manager
- Engineering Manager
- Battery or Power Electronics Specialist
Retirement or semi-retirement is not a disadvantage. Clean Cell values demonstrated experience, practical judgment and the ability to solve problems.

Clean Cell US, through its designated W-2 delivery lead, will retain final responsibility and approval authority for project delivery, design changes, supplier substitutions, manufacturing release and customer commitments. The four specialist roles will provide program, engineering, compliance, procurement, quality, integration and commissioning leadership, while qualified external partners may perform defined engineering, fabrication, testing and installation activities under Clean Cell oversight.
