Senior Bid Co-ordinator

Department: Infrastructure

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Business Development Co-ordinator to support the continued growth of our Infrastructure & Major Projects division.

This is a key role within one of G&T's most successful sectors, working closely with Partners, Directors and project teams to secure new business opportunities across both the public and private sectors.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the co-ordination and delivery of high-quality bids, proposals, presentations and business development activities. They will also play an important role in opportunity management, market intelligence, client targeting and the ongoing development of bid content and processes.

This role is ideally suited to an individual with several years' experience in business development and bid management within a consultancy, construction, infrastructure or professional services environment, who is looking to take the next step in their career and become a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders.

While the successful candidate will work within established tools and processes, they will also be encouraged to contribute ideas, challenge current ways of working and play a meaningful role in improving the bid process. About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Bid Management & Proposal Development

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process from opportunity identification through to submission.
  • Review tender documentation and client requirements to ensure submissions are compliant and aligned with evaluation criteria.
  • Develop bid plans, submission programmes and responsibility matrices to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Coordinate contributions from multiple stakeholders, maintaining version control and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Draft, edit and proofread bid responses to ensure clarity, consistency and quality.
  • Produce high-quality submission documents using Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
  • Manage tender portal submissions and maintain relevant supplier registration platforms.
  • Conduct lessons learned reviews and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Development Support

  • Maintain and monitor opportunity pipelines, working with sector leaders to track prospects and priorities.
  • Support market research, competitor analysis and client intelligence activities.
  • Prepare capability statements, project case studies, CVs and other business development collateral.
  • Develop compelling presentation materials for client meetings, interviews and pitches.
  • Support the organisation and delivery of client events, networking activities and sector initiatives.

Knowledge Management & Best Practice

  • Maintain and develop the Infrastructure bid library.
  • Ensure content remains current, compliant and aligned with sector priorities.
  • Identify content gaps and work with subject matter experts to create new materials.
  • Monitor frequently asked questions and maintain standard responses across key themes such as ESG, sustainability, health & safety and social value.
  • Promote best practice in bid management and contribute to the enhancement of tools, templates and processes.

About You

You will be a motivated and commercially aware business development professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be equally comfortable coordinating complex bids, producing high-quality written content and engaging with senior stakeholders.

Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, looks for ways to improve how things are done and is passionate about helping teams win work.

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in business development, bids or proposals within professional services, consultancy, infrastructure, construction or the built environment.
  • Proven experience managing complex bids from inception to submission.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes and frameworks.
  • Excellent written communication, copywriting, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management and organisational abilities.
  • Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders.
  • Resilient, proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable

  • Experience within infrastructure, major projects, construction consultancy or engineering sectors.
  • Knowledge of procurement portals such as Ariba, Delta, Proactis and Jaggaer.
  • Adobe InDesign experience.
  • Understanding of client pursuit planning and wider business development practices.
  • Experience supporting interviews, presentations and client engagement activities.
