Senior Bid Consultant

A leading Manchester-based bid writing and consultancy business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Bid Consultant to join their growing team. Working across a diverse range of sectors including healthcare, education, facilities management, construction and recruitment, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bid professional to take ownership of complex bids, build strong client relationships and support the development of junior consultants.

Location

Greater Manchester – hybrid working, with 1-2 days in the office.

Duties

  • Lead standard and complex bids from qualification and planning through to final submission.
  • Write, review and refine high-quality, compelling and evidence-led bid responses.
  • Manage client relationships, providing expert advice and constructively challenging where appropriate.
  • Lead client meetings, kick-offs, workshops and bid reviews with a range of stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, gaps and opportunities within bids and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct bid reviews, wash-ups and lessons-learned sessions.
  • Support, coach and mentor Bid Consultants and Graduate Consultants.
  • Contribute to improving bid delivery standards and services.
  • Manage workloads, utilisation, deadlines and delivery within agreed budgets.

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in bid management and bid writing, ideally within a consultancy or client-facing environment.
  • Experience leading complex or high-value bids with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to turn complex information into clear, persuasive responses.
  • Strong organisation and workload management skills.
  • Experience supporting, coaching or mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to delivering an excellent client experience.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.
