A growing Top 100 law firm is looking for a Senior Bid Executive to join its Business Development and Marketing team. This is a great opportunity to work somewhere that offers top-quality work, excellent career prospects, and a genuinely healthy work-life balance in a supportive environment.

You'll be joining a small, close-knit Bids team (part of an 18-strong Sales and Marketing department) that works well together, supports each other's development, and has a strong reputation across the wider firm. You'll have frequent exposure to senior partners and fee earners giving you a genuine opportunity to build your profile in the firm.

This role can be based in either Birmingham, Exeter, Leeds, London, Manchester or Winchester office (Hybrid Working)

Senior Bid Executive Role

This role will suit someone who thrives in a busy bids environment and is used to working under pressure to produce high-quality bid documents and pitches to tight deadlines. You'll work closely with partners and colleagues to deliver compelling bids and presentations, and take ownership of keeping the bids databases, systems and processes running smoothly.

Senior Bid Executive Key responsibilities

  • Monitoring procurement portals for potential opportunities and carrying out initial filtering
  • Holding kick-off meetings and pursuing content for bids
  • Project managing a wide range of bids
  • Working closely with partners to develop winning strategies and propositions
  • Drafting, synthesising, editing and proofreading compelling content, including technical content
  • Preparing CVs and team sheets
  • Setting up presentation rehearsals and guiding presentation teams
  • Developing presentation support material
  • Conducting win/loss reviews and identifying themes for improvement
  • Gathering best-practice content and case studies
  • Managing and maintaining the team's bids database and resources
  • Liaising with other support functions to keep standard documentation and policies up to date
  • Ensuring the firm's bids governance process is followed
  • Championing use of the CRM system for opportunity management
  • Supporting other projects as needed

Senior Bid Executive Skills & Experience

  • Relevant bids experience, with the ability to manage your own portfolio of bids
  • Ability to draft and synthesise content and not just project-manage
  • A sound understanding of the complexities of bid management
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to coach and influence at partner level
  • Strong project management skills
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to get up to speed with the firm's sectors and services
  • Confidence working with figures and explaining scoring mechanisms
  • Willingness to undertake some limited travel between offices
  • Experience with graphic design principles for bids (desirable)
  • Experience in Public Sector bidding (desirable)
