Senior Bid Manager

Location: Leeds

Position Type: Permanent

Summary

This is an exciting opportunity where you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering bids up to £50m, with bid costs of up to £250k, including the preparation and delivery of Red and Gold Team reviews. In this role you will champion and deliver a winning bid through effective leadership, inspiration and support of the bid team in line with business objectives and within company policy and procedures.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Engage in business strategy and support activities in relation to company communications
  • Provide leadership for bid team and keep up to date with industry movements and trends in order to demonstrate our credibility and influence current/prospective clients. Provide clear provision of objectives and responsibilities, and development opportunities
  • Work with the Business Development Managers to identify and convert work winning opportunities into profitable contracts, in line with business strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a network of external relationships, to raise the company profile, generate new business opportunities, understand the competition.
  • Use expertise, market intelligence, customer knowledge and influence to prepare a bid winning strategy that differentiates NG Bailey from our competition.
  • Develop a bid programme, identifying resources, securing support from work winning and operation leaders.
  • Work with estimating managers to ensure accuracy of cost.
  • Lead the production of complex bid submissions.
  • Ensure relevant approvals are obtained through the bid process, including presentation of key target updates, and proposals for review and audit.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant and demonstrable experience of securing high value profitable opportunities within an MEP/Building Services or construction environment
  • Management of multiple team members and established network of customer relationships
  • Demonstrable commercial knowledge around various contracting and conditions

Desirable Qualifications

  • Engineering/building services qualification at HNC level
  • APMP (bid and proposals management) – foundation level
  • Maintained continued professional development (e.g. CIBSE)
