This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of one of the UK's fastest-growing EV charging businesses. You'll work on high-profile opportunities, influence strategic decisions and collaborate with talented teams across Pod, EO and EDF. If you're motivated by ownership, enjoy solving complex commercial challenges and want to make a tangible impact on the UK's transition to electric living, we'd love to have you on the journey.
Here's what our Commercial Excellence Manager had to say:
"Winning the right opportunities is critical to our growth, and this role will play a central part in making that happen. You'll lead some of the most exciting enterprise and public sector pursuits in the EV market, partnering with teams across Pod, EO and EDF to create compelling customer solutions that truly differentiate us. Beyond the bids themselves, you'll help shape how we pursue strategic opportunities, build lasting capability and influence decisions that drive business performance. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex commercial challenges and want your work to have a visible impact on both the business and the future of electrification, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to make your mark."
What You'll Do:
- Lead Strategic Bid Opportunities - You’ll own the end-to-end bid lifecycle across high-value enterprise, strategic and public sector opportunities, ensuring submissions are compliant, compelling and delivered to exceptional standards within agreed deadlines
- Shape Pursuit Strategy - You’ll partner with Sales, Marketing and Leadership teams to identify, qualify and prioritise opportunities, leading go/no-go decisions, win strategy development and competitive positioning to maximise success
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration - You’ll act as the central orchestrator across Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product, Technical Design, Delivery and Leadership teams, ensuring stakeholders remain aligned, engaged and accountable throughout the pursuit process
- Develop Winning Proposals - You’ll create persuasive, customer-focused proposals that clearly articulate the combined value proposition of Pod, EO and EDF, demonstrating our technical expertise, delivery capability and commercial strengths
- Lead Complex Tender Responses - You’ll take ownership of responses to RFIs, RFPs, ITTs, framework agreements and strategic procurement exercises, ensuring compliance, accuracy and quality throughout. This will include coordinating consortium-style responses across EDF, Pod and EO stakeholders
- Challenge, Influence and Improve - You’ll proactively identify risks, gaps and weaknesses within bid strategies, commercial approaches and customer responses. Use insight and influence to challenge stakeholders constructively and strengthen final submissions
- Support Commercial Success - You’ll work closely with Commercial, Finance and Sales teams to develop pricing strategies, commercial models and solution options that balance customer requirements with business objectives and profitability
- Build Bid Excellence - You’ll establish and maintain a scalable bid management framework, including governance, content libraries, case studies, templates and best practice processes that improve efficiency, consistency and quality across the organisation
- Drive Insight and Continuous Improvement - You’ll analyse bid performance, win/loss outcomes and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Share insights across the business to influence product development, proposition enhancements and commercial strategy
- Champion Market Intelligence - You’ll maintain a strong understanding of the EV charging, fleet electrification, energy infrastructure and public sector procurement landscape, ensuring Pod remains competitive, differentiated and well positioned in the market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
