Overview

At Gallagher, we're looking for an experienced and commercially-focused Senior Bid Manager to join our Strategic Bid Management Team (SBMT).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in securing some of Gallagher's largest and most complex new business and retention opportunities across our Specialty divisions. You'll partner with senior leaders, producers, and subject matter experts to develop winning strategies, lead high-profile pursuits, and drive best-in-class bid management practices.

The Strategic Bid Management Team (SBMT) leads Gallagher's most important business development and retention opportunities. Working on high-value, strategically significant pursuits, the team partners with business leaders to shape opportunities from an early stage, ensuring a structured, disciplined, and client-focused approach that maximizes our chances of success.

As a Senior Bid Manager (Specialty Lead), you will take ownership of complex strategic pursuits, managing the process from initial qualification and opportunity shaping through to submission, presentation, and post-bid review.

You will provide expert bid leadership, establish governance and delivery frameworks, and coordinate diverse stakeholder groups to create high-quality, differentiated client propositions.

This role offers significant visibility across Gallagher's Specialty business, working closely with senior executives and contributing directly to business growth.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Lead the delivery of Gallagher's most complex and high-value Specialty bids and retentions from qualification through to submission and outcome.
  • Develop and implement pursuit strategies, win themes, and compelling client-focused messaging.
  • Establish robust bid plans, governance structures, and delivery timelines, ensuring projects remain on track and risks are proactively managed.
  • Facilitate strategy workshops, kick-offs, review sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Partner with producers, client teams, and subject matter experts to develop compelling and differentiated propositions.
  • Manage executive reviews, approvals, and final submissions to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and internal governance requirements.
  • Monitor bid pipeline activity, resource demand, and delivery priorities across multiple concurrent opportunities.
  • Lead post-bid reviews and lessons learned activities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach and mentor Bid Managers and wider stakeholders, helping to raise capability across the function.
  • Support innovation initiatives and the adoption of digital and AI-enabled bid management tools and processes.
