Position summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a bright, motivated Senior Bid Writer and Coordinator to join our team. You will work closely with our infrastructure clients to plan, coordinate and produce compelling, high scoring tender submissions.
You will be joining a small, niche business run by a close-knit team who pride themselves on collaboration, dedication, and ambition. We are looking for candidates who share this ethos and want to join our growing business on its journey, showcasing the application and drive required to consistently deliver high-quality outputs to stringent deadlines.
This is a full-time role, combining a home-base, with flexible team working at a selection of London office locations. There will also be periods of working with remote teams in our clients’ offices, nationally and internationally.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and career working with us, working closely within a small team with over 40 years’ experience in the industry. For the right candidate, this could include team leadership and inputting into our growing team structure. The salary is negotiable, dependent on experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities
Bid Writing:
- Take lead writing responsibility for allocated responses within large, complex submissions
- Participate proactively in answer planning and win theme development sessions
- Drive use of existing information, focussed workshops, and direct liaison with Subject Matter Experts to create high-scoring responses for technically challenging projects
- Manage development of allocated responses through detailed review programmes, to meet multi-stakeholder client requirements, while meeting tight deadlines throughout
- Proof-read, copywrite and format final responses to deliver consistent and joined-up submissions in bespoke templates

Bid Coordination:
- Review tender documentation and prepare bid programmes and deliverable schedules
- Continuously track and report bid deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
- Establish and maintain touchpoints with key members of the bid team
- Manage day-to-day document management, reporting progress to the Bid Manager/Director
- Oversee and input into document finalisation in readiness for submission deadline
Other:
- Produce persuasive, concise sales text for marketing purposes
- Support the team in developing internal proposals to new and existing clients
- Provide internal team or assignment leadership (dependent on experience) and support the continuous professional development of other staff members
What you bring to the team
Qualifications:
- Written English and / or business, marketing or administrative achievements
Desirable:
- APMP Foundation course
Knowledge/Experience:
- A high standard in written English
- Experience of draft or editing accurate, quality text in a professional or academic environment
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint and formatting skills
- Considerable desktop publishing experience in MS Word will be essential (experience of using other software, such as inDesign would also be desirable)
- Project coordination skills – tracking and executing deliverables on time and to required quality
- Document control experience, ensuring information is stored properly so to be easily located and accessed for use on future projects / audits
- A self-starter, with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Diplomacy - experience of managing the expectations of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment and effectively manage a fluctuating workload
- Confident communicator and ability to lead and contribute to stakeholder meetings
- Business administration acumen, or a willingness to learn and develop these skills

As a small business, we set ourselves apart by combining the team’s unique skillsets and capabilities to provide bespoke solutions to clients around the world, with our first 3 years including trips to Paris, Rotterdam, and Toronto.
