Role Description
This full-time Senior BIM Coordinator / Principal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers role is a hybrid position based in Greater London, with flexibility for some work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Coordinating BIM models across disciplines
- Ensuring accurate integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within architectural designs
- Managing information workflows for refurbishment and fit-out projects

- Leading design coordination meetings
- Reviewing and validating BIM models
- Supporting project teams with clash detection, technical documentation, and model standards
The successful candidate will:
- Collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to maintain design integrity, meet project timelines, and uphold Maze Engineering’s quality and communication standards
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM processes
- Support commissioning and handover documentation
Qualifications
- Strong BIM Coordination and Building Information Modeling (BIM) skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary models and ensuring data integrity.
- Knowledge of Architecture and integration of mechanical and electrical systems within building designs, including coordination with structural and architectural teams.
- Expertise in Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including design review, coordination, and practical understanding of installation and commissioning.
- Project Management skills, including planning, task prioritization, stakeholder communication, and delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Proficiency with relevant BIM and design software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, common data environments) and familiarity with industry standards and protocols.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, education, or healthcare building projects, ideally in refurbishment, fit-out, or maintenance environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and compliance.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in hybrid teams and mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Relevant engineering or construction-related degree or equivalent professional experience; professional registration or chartership is an advantage.
