Overview of the Role
The Senior BIM Technician role is a great opportunity for someone with a strong BIM background to broaden their technical skills and take on greater responsibility. You will work closely with consultants and project managers to help develop solutions that meet our clients' needs, while considering both current requirements and emerging technologies that will shape the way we work and the environments we work in.
Description of Duties
- Production of CAD and Revit drawings for IT equipment room designs, floor layouts, meeting room and control room designs, elevations, details and schematic information etc. in the preparation of RIBA Stage reports
- Allocation of resources to complete drafting packages on time and to the required standards.
- Seek opportunities to reduce repetitive manual processes through standardisation and appropriate automation.
- Provide technical mentoring of the BIM Team, advising on best practices, model setup, model templates, data management, automation, scripting and interoperability
- Contribute to the development of PTS' digital engineering platform, creating reusable standards, content libraries, automation tools and quality assurance systems that improve consistency and reduce project delivery time.
- Support the evaluation and adoption of AI-assisted workflows to improve engineering efficiency whilst maintaining technical quality.
- Assisting in the development of Revit families and Revit automation to improve workflow
- Develop automated quality assurance processes for BIM models and drawings.
- Submission and retrieval of information on Common Data Environments (ACC, BIM360, ProjectWise, Dalux etc.)
- Maintain cognisance of time allowances on projects and maintain commercial efficiency in drawing production.
- Ensure PTS’ adherence to agreed scope of works raising and tracking change requests
- Adopt PTS’ ISO 9001 quality procedures and ensure they are adhered to
- Ensure that technical skills are kept up to-date and continually improved

Relevant Necessary Experience
- Demonstrable experience leading BIM delivery on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Trained and experienced in ISO19650 practices
- Expertise working with federated and linked models, model health, BIM execution plans and model auditing.
- A comprehensive knowledge base of Revit, preferably in an Electrical role, and associated software and add-ins
- Exposure to, or an interest in, scripting and automation technologies such as Dynamo, Python, pyRevit, AutoLISP or similar tools would be advantageous.
- A demonstrable track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Experience of projects within the construction industry (typically fit-out offices)
- Familiar with quality assurance processes, codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to liaise and co-ordinate with clients, Architects and all other members of the Design Team
- Experience of clash detection/resolution process using both Navisworks and Revit

The successful candidate should have the ability to liaise with and confidently influence stakeholders and the ability to work across several disciplines.
