My client, a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice, is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, build strong client relationships, and support the development of junior team members within a modern practice.
The Role
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including journals, reconciliations, and trial balances
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, VAT, payroll, CIS, intercompany, and other balance sheet accounts
- Processing bills and expenses, supplier payments, and credit control
- Supporting year-end accounts preparation
- Assisting with software integrations and resolving client queries
- Building strong client relationships and providing a proactive, high-quality service
- Supporting and sharing knowledge with junior members of the team

The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 3 years' hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Previous UK accountancy practice experience managing multiple clients
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping through to trial balance
- Strong VAT knowledge and experience preparing VAT returns
- Proficient in Xero and confident using cloud accounting systems
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and credit control
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- AAT Level 4 qualified is desirable
- Experience with Sage, QuickBooks, or software integrations would be advantageous
