The Senior Brand Heritage Manager will enhance and protect our Twinings heritage today and our future heritage, as a valued and differentiating brand, that drives value, quality, distinctiveness, and consumer trust, and which is relevant for the consumer of today and the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Project Genesis in order to get full visibility and traceability of our history and be the business’ expert in the findings.
  • In close liaison with the Comms Director, recommend to the business leadership team any action needed as a result of Genesis and follow this through to action in market through the General Managers and Marketing Directors.
  • In close liaison with the Comms Director, lead the internal crisis management planning for Genesis and ensure markets are all fully up to speed, ready to respond with clear and consistent messaging.
  • Provide clarity and understanding to senior stakeholders of the linkages between Genesis and our modern-day business, feeding into our strategy for the future with Social Impact, DE&I teams and RTB’s in Twinings.
  • Representing Brand Heritage Team as part of the internal leadership team and being the OS/PT liaison for business planning, Project Genesis and brand equity building.
  • Create a brand history narrative (and supporting tools/collateral) that can be leveraged for marketing purposes to increase consumer engagement and drive brand loyalty/affinity.
  • Ensuring that it is relevant for our target consumer today, kept up to date and ongoing is relevant for the future.
  • Work with Comms Director to incorporate key brand messages/stories into overall comms narrative for Twinings brand.
  • Develop new comms material e.g. website content – copy and images, introductory presentations etc.
  • Lead the creation and implementation of skill enhancing programmes to ensure ‘Reasons to Believe’ are underpinned, valid today and ongoing and can be justified and developed further to ensure and build brand longevity. Through this reaffirm Twinings as a leader in beverage innovation and give development opportunity/career enrichment across different disciplines within the business.
  • Develop and implement a programme of comms and experiences to create high engagement across all employees that fosters ongoing passion and pride for our brand, and so also acting as a retention tool, through a connection with our heritage. Measured by: proud to work at Twinings (increase Engage score).
  • Develop programme to leverage The Strand experience to greater effect across our business.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance our brand values proposition, using our heritage to our advantage as a unique asset that sets us apart from the competition.
  • Be the go-to on questions related to consumer associations of the logo and warrant to represent the brand and company point of view for market consideration.
  • Lead the design, implementation and execution of the Royal Warrant strategy.
  • Market Liaison in regards to the Royal Warrant.
  • Royal Warrant changeover planning and implementation.
  • External and Internal announcement or crisis communications management (in liaison with Comms Director).
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Corporate Relations where needed on Royal Warrant re-application.
  • Accountable for leading archivist and historian team to understanding our history.
  • Accountable for timelines and deliverables.
  • Key consult on ‘fit for purpose’ archive and storage space.
  • Internal and external comms and crisis management planning (in liaison with Comms Director).
  • Lead crisis management response (working with Int.Marketing Director and Comms Director).
  • Liaison with broader external academia.
