Senior Breast Care Nurse

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Senior Breast Care Nurse to provide clinical leadership and specialist expertise within our Breast Services team. This is a fixed-term position for 12 months to provide maternity leave cover.

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior nurse with a strong clinical background and a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within women's health services. They will play a key role in supporting patients throughout their breast care pathway, providing expert clinical advice, leadership, and guidance to both patients and colleagues.

Applicants Should Demonstrate

  • Current NMC registration and substantial post-registration experience.
  • Experience working in a senior nursing role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care.
  • A strong interest in breast care and women's health services.

The Post Holder Will

  • Provide expert clinical leadership and specialist nursing expertise within Breast Services, ensuring the effective delivery and ongoing development of clinical nursing pathways.
  • Support the delivery of breast cancer and screening services by providing professional leadership, clinical advice, and expert guidance to patients, carers, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Ensure patient care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), national guidance, and best practice standards.
  • Provide specialist education, support, and advice to patients throughout their care journey, promoting informed decision-making and a positive patient experience.
  • Undertake specialist clinical nursing activity within the Breast Service, maintaining high standards of care and professional practice.
  • Lead, support, and develop the clinical nursing workforce, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day line management of the Breast Care Nursing Team and supporting staff, including performance management, appraisal, training, and professional development.
