Senior Bridge Engineer - Penrith Design Solutions Structures

Location: Salford - Optimum House

Hours: 40 per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired

About the Role

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you'll play a vital role in producing and overseeing scheme designs, reports, and documentation for our structures team. This is an opportunity to use your expertise to deliver innovative bridge design, assessment, and maintenance solutions that meet client requirements while mentoring and developing our talented team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you'll be working within the Penrith Design Solutions Structures Team, supporting them in delivering high-quality bridge design and assessment solutions. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Producing and overseeing bridge design, assessment, and maintenance solutions that meet client requirements within budget and timescale
  • Developing designs in accordance with National design standards and the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
  • Preparing scheme documents, reports, and ensuring compliance with Quality Management Systems
  • Ensuring all designs comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of team members to grow their capabilities

Requirements

This role of Senior Bridge Engineer is great for you if:

  • You're working towards or have achieved Chartered Engineer status (CEng MICE, MIStructE or equivalent)
  • You have 6+ years post-graduate experience in a similar role within Highways
  • You have proven experience of bridge design standards and analysis
  • You can demonstrate successful management and delivery of projects to programme and budget
  • You enjoy collaborating with others and building effective relationships across teams and clients
