About Nuttall Bowser
Nuttall Bowser are a specialist bridge engineering consultancy start-up, heading into our fifth year of business, based in Bristol operating throughout the UK and beyond. We work across numerous sectors delivering bridge engineering services across all asset lifecycle stages from asset management through to detailed design for asset owners, contractors, property developers, and consulting partners.

We are based in the Generator Building within the Finzels Reach area of central Bristol – situated in a harbourside setting with just a 5-minute walk to Cabot Circus and a 10-minute walk to the train station. The Generator Building is a grade II listed structure modernly restored to celebrate its heritage features and history, providing an appropriate fit to our business capability and culture.

Responsibilities
- Act as technical lead for the delivery of examinations, assessments, and design works
- Act as line manager and develop junior staff members
- Act as project manager or assist project managers to support project delivery
- Support senior leaders with tenders and fee proposals
- Assist senior leaders in developing all aspects of the business
Minimum Requirements
- 4 years plus post-graduate experience in the bridge discipline
- Strong experience in the examination, assessment, repair, and design of bridge assets
- Strong working knowledge of Eurocode, British, and DMRB standards
- Strong technical skills with experience/ability to mentor junior staff

Preferred Requirements
- 5+ years plus post-graduate experience in the bridge discipline
- Incorporated or Chartered with ICE or IStructE
- Experience in project management
- Strong experience in detailed design of reinforced concrete and steel superstructures and substructure/foundation design
- Previous experience in non-linear buckling Finite Element Analysis
