As part of the wider Centura Group, we combine expertise in bridge engineering, composite materials, manufacturing and construction to deliver efficient, sustainable and cost-effective bridge solutions. With increasing market demand and exciting growth plans, we are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Bridge Engineer looking to take ownership of projects from order placement through to delivery, while helping shape the future development of FRP bridge technology across the UK.
The Role
As a Bridge Projects Manager / Senior Bridge Engineer, you will manage the complete post-order lifecycle of FRP bridge projects, ensuring successful delivery from initial design coordination through to installation support and handover.
Working closely with clients, consultants, bridge owners and supply chain partners, you will oversee technical and commercial aspects of projects while supporting business growth and promoting the benefits of composite bridge solutions.

As our Senior Bridges Technical Manager you will be responsible for:
- Manage FRP bridge projects from order placement through delivery and post-delivery support.
- Coordinate with supply chain partners regarding project requirements, pricing and technical matters.
- Prepare and contribute to outline and tender proposals.
- Maintain prequalification documentation and submissions for prospective projects.
- Complete and manage Approval in Principle (AiP) documentation and obtain required stakeholder approvals.
- Oversee detailed design activities for bridges, parapets and foundations undertaken by external design partners.
- Prepare project delivery information packs and conduct contractor installation training.
- Place and manage orders through the Group ERP system.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners to ensure quality, innovation and competitiveness.
- Manage shipping documentation and logistics coordination.
- Produce maintenance manuals and project handover documentation.
- Work closely with the Finance team to support invoicing and payment processes.
- Monitor project pipeline activities and contribute to sales forecasting.
- Support business development through technical presentations, exhibitions, stakeholder engagement and marketing activities.
- Contribute technical content for the Lifespan Structures website and social media platforms.
- Promote Lifespan Structures and wider Group solutions to bridge owners, consultants and industry stakeholders.
- Support structural strengthening projects involving composite materials within the wider Group.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality and IMS requirements.
About You
We are seeking a technically strong bridge engineering professional who combines project management capability with commercial awareness and excellent communication skills.

You should have experience in / as:
- Understanding of bridge design processes and standards.
- Familiarity with DMRB guidance, including CG300, CD368 and related bridge design requirements.
- Knowledge of composite materials and sustainable construction solutions would be advantageous.
- Strong technical project management skills.
- Commercial awareness and business understanding.
- Customer-focused approach.
- Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Basic CAD capability.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience working within a bridge design environment.
- Proven involvement in bridge design and project delivery.
- Experience liaising with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status preferred, or actively progressing towards Chartership.
- Significant bridge engineering experience.
