Broker - Aviation Division
This is the role of a broker within the Aviation division of Willis Re. This role requires extensive background in the Aviation market, either via previous broking experience or through underwriting of this class. The ideal candidate should have intimate knowledge of the Aviation area and extensive contacts within Willis Re’s target client base, from class underwriter level through to the C-suite.
Role Responsibilities
- Using contacts to introduce and promote Willis Re to new clients from the Aviation Space
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to pitch new products or structural ideas to clients
- Management of selected Willis Re client accounts including executing placement of these within the market
- Assistance with setting Willis Re’s consortia strategy by identifying target areas of growth for Willis Re prospective clients
- Interaction with Willis / WTW to identify opportunities for partnership and growth
- Additional involvement in retro placements and RFPs across Willis Re client base
- Liaising with reinsurer contacts to understand their appetite and enhance Willis Re relationships with markets
- Knowledge sharing, including regular briefings of Willis Re team as to market conditions and development
- Post-event liaison with clients and markets to provide intel on losses being observed and to help them to quantify their own exposure

Required Skills And Experience
- Degree, ACII or equivalent qualification
- Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical skills
- Good presentation abilities
- Ability to assimilate and apply large volumes of information rapidly
- Negotiation skills coupled with the ability to be flexible and innovative
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team
- Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and work under pressure
- Comfortable explaining complex concepts and making recommendations to clients/client servicing teams
- Must be able to forge links between broking and client servicing teams
- Ability to adapt personal style to work effectively with a wide range of clients, colleagues and underwriters
- Must be prepared to work with integrity and openness, always complying with FCA requirements.
- Good IT skills with excellent Excel usage capability
