Experienced Broker Support Professional
We are seeking an experienced Broker Support professional to join our Marine and Energy team at Guy Carpenter in London. This is a hybrid role, with at least three days per week in the office.
This opportunity sits within a specialist placement team focused on the LMX London market excess of loss portfolio, with broader exposure across the team’s portfolio. The role requires someone who can operate with a high degree of independence, support complex placement activity, and maintain consistently high standards of service for clients, brokers, and markets.
We will count on you to:
- Review client renewal information and identify key placement considerations.
- Manage the contract drafting process, including policy updates and production of final contract documentation.
- Prepare broker submissions and placement materials where required.
- Track the progress of assigned accounts and maintain accurate placement status updates.
- Maintain core placement files, ensuring best-practice procedures and compliance requirements are fully evidenced.
- Respond to client requests for information, including reinsurer data, financial reports, and market or industry issues.
- Support onboarding activity for new clients and markets.
- Manage compliance requirements, including sanctions referrals, third parties, AML, and ABC processes.
- Monitor and report on business metrics.
- Build strong working relationships with the Service Team and develop a broad understanding of accounting, claims, and proportional treaty administration.
- Participate actively in team, client, and reinsurer meetings.
What you need to have:
- Significant experience in insurance or reinsurance, with a strong grounding in broker support, technician, or placement processes.
- Experience working on wordings, ideally within underwriting, insurance, or reinsurance.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistently accurate approach to work.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- A solid understanding of placement documentation, renewals, and market processes.
