We are excited to be recruiting a Senior BSL Care Assistant to join our brand-new Deaf Household at Heanor Park Care Home. This is a full-time position, working 35 hours per week across five shifts.
We have an opportunity for people that can use BSL (British Sign Language) to support deaf members of our community. We want you to bring a passion for helping elderly deaf residents maintain an independent lifestyle. We are currently recruiting both full time and part time positions.
We will pay you an attendance bonus just for turning up to work!

Working for an established care provider like Ashmere, you start your journey with us by attending our monthly new starter company induction with all new joiners from all of our homes. We will kit you out with uniform, pay for your DBS check, and provide you with regular training.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
