Creative Assembly / SEGA is recruiting for the role of Senior Build Tools Engineer. The Senior Build Tools Engineer will drive improvements to build systems, CI and automated testing infrastructure across Total War development teams. The role also involves writing production-ready code, improving reliability and supporting other engineers.

What you’ll do
- Improve CI reliability, error detection, logging standards and quality guardrails.
- Strengthen deployment pipelines that deliver builds to internal teams, QA and external platforms.
- Design, build and maintain backend services such as build storage infrastructure, symbol servers, archiving systems and dashboards.
- Write and review production-ready code, mainly in C++ and C#.
- Join the weekly support responder rota to triage build and test issues.
- Establish metrics and dashboards that surface issues early and track reliability trends.
- Work with the test automation team to add quality gates into CI workflows.

What they’re looking for
- Strong experience designing, operating and improving build systems, CI/CD pipelines or DevOps platforms at scale.
- Strong programming ability in C++, plus C# or an equivalent scripting language.
- Deep debugging skills across complex multi-component systems.
- Experience with console automation.
- Experience with online store APIs.
- Familiarity with Perforce or similar version control systems in large team environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across disciplines and engineering leadership.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with broader architectural thinking.
