The Building Control Service in Manchester has a key role to play in the evolution of our city, ensuring our developments are compliant, safe, inclusive, sustainable and incorporate measures that reduce the impact of climate change. Following recent recruitment success to key management posts, our building control team is at the forefront of new and exciting construction projects across the city.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities attached to the role are commensurate with the restricted activities and functions only available to building control and reflects the high importance and regard in which Building Control is held within the authority.

If you’re successful, you’ll join a motivated and friendly team of highly skilled professionals, dedicated to ensuring that high standards of health, safe, sustainability, and accessibility are achieved in buildings within our city.

Requirements

Essential Requirements For The Role

  • Registered with the Building Safety Regulator as a Class 2A - F Building Inspector
  • Holds professional membership of a building control related organisation - Chartered Assoc of Building Engineers (MCABE), Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB), or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), or equivalent.
  • Must possess relevant building control related knowledge and be able to demonstrate experience acquired, whilst working in a Local Authority or Registered Building Control Approver organisation
  • A full UK driving licence is required
