Base Location
For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Perth, Glasgow, Inverness or Aberdeen.
Salary
£59,800 - £89,800 depending on skills and experience + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The Role
SSEN Transmission Onshore AC are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Building Services (Mechanical) Project Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects throughout the delivery of high profile, high value and technically complex projects on the Electricity Transmission network in Scotland. Projects range from operational depots, office spaces, training facilities to large substations and upgrades of existing substations.
The role is responsible for supporting the core design teams through initial development and design, into delivery, commissioning and hand over to operations.
You Will
- Lead the development, review and approval of mechanical building services designs, specifications and scopes of work across a range of infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical assurance throughout project delivery, validating designs and supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve engineering solutions, manage technical risks and implement innovative technologies and best practice.
- Support and mentor engineers within the wider team, sharing technical expertise and contributing to capability development.
- Work closely with consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes and ensure compliance with project requirements.

You Have
- Significant experience in mechanical building services engineering, including the design, specification and delivery of complex construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant engineering standards, legislation and regulations, including CDM and their practical application.
- The ability to assess technical challenges, evaluate engineering solutions and make informed recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
- A degree in Building Services Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Chartered Engineer status, or progress towards professional registration, would be advantageous.
