About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Senior Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our collaborative and talented team in our vibrant and well-established Leicester office.
As a Senior Building Services Engineer (Electrical), you will deliver exceptional technical and commercial solutions for a range of clients across the private and public sector. Pick Everard has a portfolio of key heritage and culture clients. The role would mainly be working with these clients on their estates and buildings.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering portfolios of work across both the private and public sector.
- Liaise with clients and contractors, attend meetings, and provide technical advice and reports.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and trainees.
- Compliance with Health & Safety requirements, practices, and procedures.
- Conduct feasibility studies, design options, and detailed electrical system designs with drawings and specifications.
- Undertake site investigations, inspections, testing, commissioning, and condition surveys.
- Monitor project progress, manage resources, and ensure timely delivery.
- Verify contractor payments, negotiate variations, and support cost planning and tender evaluation.

About You
Our ideal Senior Building Services Engineer (Electrical) will have:
- HND/Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering; membership of a relevant professional body (IET or CIBSE).
- Chartership (desirable) or working towards.
- Significant experience in electrical building services design across sectors such as higher education, residential, care, office, and emergency services.
- Proficient in electrical and lighting design software (Trimble ProDesign, Electrical OM, Dialux, Relux).
- Strong experience with Revit MEP.
- Hands-on knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of BS 7671, structured wiring, security systems, fire alarm/emergency lighting design, and current legislation (Building Regulations, Low/Zero Carbon Technologies, BREEAM).
- Ability to prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, detailed designs, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with site investigations, inspections, testing, commissioning, defect lists, and condition surveys.
- Skilled in monitoring project progress, managing resources, negotiating contractor variations, and providing client/consultant support.
- LV (Essential) and HV (desirable) systems.
- Experience in tender analysis and appraisals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork, self-motivation, time management, and ability to work to deadlines.
